kaz noticed something when the cotton guard went up and stopped his wooloo from charging ahead. "hold on, your fur is like super dirty, let me just..." the wooloo let out a cry of stubbornness as his trainer stopped him from going headfirst into the course as kaz took his shirt and started to wipe down the sheep. Okay, so maybe she was not the best of trainers ever. Heck, Vio would agree wholeheartedly with everyone who said that. But then again, no one had yet been able to sufficiently explain to her how all these Cotton Guards going up there were somehow, arbitrarily, stronger than the Iron Defense that her dear Golett was putting up as he marched onto the course.

That just didn’t make any sense to her. And, being a stubborn young lady, she decided that reality was not to her liking in that regard and had Golett march out there regardless, keeping up his guard and hopefully outlasting all these fluffy things like the real somehow-living-slab-of-stone he was. Though Vio pouted all the way regardless.

the first round of defenses is easily handled with the boosted defense of the avian dragon. they march on with a determined demeanor, the price of winning once more at arms reach for both of them. only that venus hisses at the sight of the golett. iron defense has a long way to go than cotton guard, and she’s worried it might be pushed out of the platform before it could max out its full potential. venus repeats the cotton guard and dashes some more distance.[break][break]

the two were off with a quick dash. already both wooloo and kazimir put up their defenses as a cotton guard was protecting the wooloo while kaz uses his own martial arts skills to keep things from touching him. though he was no action movie character kazimir was doing his best to keep himself safe while the wooloo didn't really do much, just stood there and take it like nothing was happening. kaz was a bit jealous, he wished he had a large coat of fluff to protect himself and keep himself warm as well.

Frankly, if those weird cottony pokemon were so much better at this than her Iron-powered Golett, then so be it. Not like it bruised her ego much. Golett did seem to react with an angry gaze towards the one hissing at him, but Vio just kept following it, allowing the pokemon to take the brunt of the attack and her partners to do most of the work.

After all, if they could do it so much better, then they could also carry most of the weight. She only had like four pokemon, so Vio just did what she could here. “Just keep on stacking the Iron Defenses, everything else will be fine,” she told her Pokemon while evading what she could herself. This challenge truly had to be the most annoying one she’d tackled so far. Probably because just standing there and letting others attack them was something every fibre of her being was against.
